Quest is created with the new BC curriculum in mind. The seven comprehensive levels are tailor-made for students of different levels in elementary school. Students who are enrolled in this program will read novels that have been selected by veteran BC teachers, and short stories that are created to build interest in various scientific and social issues. With its intensive twice or thrice weekly program, it is geared towards accelerating students’ English skills, and meeting and exceeding BC learning outcomes. With dedicated teachers at JL, your kids will build genuine passion for gaining new knowledge.

An optional vocab program will fast-track your child’s reading and writing level.

Writers Forum Let’s face it. Everybody can use a lesson or two in writing. The help of experienced teachers and JL’s meticulous curriculum will maximize your kids’ writing skills. We focus on practical and applicable writing lessons and techniques, all geared towards producing young writers who can communicate both creatively and formally as needed in academic environments and beyond.
This course takes students on a tour of academic and creative English writing, moving from how to avoid common errors, to paragraph structure, beginner and advanced essay composition, to poetry and short fiction. This course offers the fundamentals and tips on tricks for the ambitious highschool writer.
The world is changing. More than ever before, having proficient math skills is a prerequisite for many walks of life. With experienced teachers and JL’s sound curriculum, which closely follows the BC government’s target learning outcomes, JL ensures that your kids master the skills that are necessary for building solid logic and future success.

Test Prep.
Getting accepted into a college of choice is tougher than ever before. While JL can’t teach you how to play instruments or help you get a black belt in Taekwondo, we can help you ace that AP, SAT, or ACT exam. We will take the guessing game out of the equation for each student.
JL provides Intensive test prep classes that happen twice a week or once a week. All students need to write an evaluation test in order to join a test prep course.

JL has provided lessons on TOEFL for over 14 years. Being a school which provides both comprehensive lessons on TOEFL prep, and an official TOEFL test centre which is approved by ETS, JL is proud that a multitude of students have received more than 110 from the official exam, since the inception of TOEFL IBT back in 2005. Unlike any other schools, JL’s TOEFL prep teachers are equipped with at least 10 years of TOEFL teaching experience and our testing prep courses include testing modules that are closely replicate real TOEFL exam.
Lessons are divided into two levels: TOEFL Prep and TOEFL Advance
JL offers help in Sciences such as Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Starting at the Gr. 10 level, we provide help on most academic courses in a way that is geared towards explaining the concepts and providing problem solving strategies. We aim to ensure students genuinely and deeply understand theories and are familiar with relevant exams, allowing them to confidently demonstrate their knowledge, even with more challenging and applied questions.
JL education is the only place in Canada with such a wide array of cutting-edge online learning programs, including comprehensive video lectures, that closely mirror BC Education learning outcomes. These innovative programs will enable students to learn not only at our learning centres but anywhere a student wishes.
